Worthing metallers Bleed Again have unleashed a belter of 4 track self-titled EP featuring their latest single ‘Drowning In Dreams.

Bleed Again pull off a very similar style to a mixture of early All That Remains and similar acts that came through the NWOAHM (New Wave of American Heavy Metal) scene in the early 2000s. So much that I think vocalist James Dawson’s voice is rather similar to Mark Hunter of Chimaira, that same throat roar that can cut right through a song. Though his cleans have a definite British twang to them.

This new release is a step up in both song-writing, and most definitely in production from any previous material. Killer riffs that will have you headbanging, an array of excellent drumming technique and awesome guitar solos to lose your mind to. Just listen to the solo in ‘Fade Away’ and get lost in that melody.

The stand out song for me is ‘Icarus‘. Absolutely brutal grooves in the intro and Dawson’s dominantly fierce vocals shouting “ICARUUUS” in the chorus just make the song a pure belter! Both are so simple but so effective.

A recommendation for any metal fan, and a sign that UK metal is as strong as ever where break-through acts are concerned.
