Oceans are an alternative rock post-hardcore band based in Brighton and London who are about to release their single ‘What You Did To Me’ on April 19th. To celebrate that they are planning a single launch show at The Prince Albert in Brighton on the same day.
Not fitting in with any specific genre, the five piece been described as a breath of fresh air for the alternative rock scenes local to them. With the whole band in their early twenties, these young lads have strived since forming in the last couple of years, building their fanbase in Brighton and Camden.
The band was formed by Conor Hyde and his housemates, though, following the departure of three members in the summer of 2015, Oceans reinvented themselves to fuse Alt-rock and post-hardcore to create their own unique twist.
‘What You Did To Me’ touches on keeping things from yourself and other people, being uncomfortable with yourself, and letting a secret manifest into something worse. Guitarist Conor Hyde says: “I had this chorus idea for a year, but we never did anything with it. Then I took the time to sit down with it properly and construct a basic idea to take to the rest of the guys for developing and finalising.”
