Homebound – The Mould You Build Around Yourself
Release Date: 10th February 2017
Surrey based Homebound are sharing their third EP ‘The Mould You Build Yourself Around’ with the world, and it’s sounding exciting. Setting off with their lead single ‘Headspace’ the EP proceeds through five energy-filled tracks, each with a familiar pop-punk vibe. Although we may be already accustomed to similar approaches from the likes of Neck Deep, State Champs and The Story So Far, Homebound are aiming to make their own stand in the genre with this full-on EP.
‘Sonder’ is full to the brim of enthusiastic drums, bouncy guitar melodies and heartfelt vocals that resemble some old Young Guns essences. ‘TMYBAY‘ is a very personal and mature sound for the four-piece, with themes of true values of life and music shining through. It’s a strong sound that fortifies what Homebound want to be as a band; it’s awesome to witness.
2017 is shaping up to be a big year for the pop-punk genre, with one of the biggest names in the mainstream, contemporary brand New Found Glory celebrating their ‘20 years of pop-punk’. They’re not the only ones to be celebrating. Homebound kick off on tour with American quartet Four Year Strong mid-February, who are performing their 2007 album ‘Rise or Die Trying’ in full in celebration.
With all that said, it’s an exciting time to be part of the pop-punk crew, and Homebound are shaping up to be ones to keep an eye on.
