I went down to The Prince Albert on a Wednesday evening to catch Oceans for their single launch, with support from Milk White Throat and Monk The Mute. None of these bands were my usual cup of tea but I was more than up for going down to check the show out!

Kicking off the night was Monk The Mute, an instrumental post-rock band from Brighton. This was their debut show and they got a good response from the crowd. I have to say the room was not packed but still a decent amount of bodies – a good way to start the evening. [6.5]

Next on were Milk White Throat, a progressive rock band from Brighton. This was their first show in a while and the room gradually started to fill up as we progressed into the night. The band had a blend of styles which I didn’t mind; it sounded really prog-rock inspired and they got the crowd warmed up for Oceans. [7]

Up last but certainly not least was the headlining quintet Oceans, playing alternative rock/post hardcore and hailing from Brighton and London. The place was packed out as they showcased their new single ‘What You Did To Me’. Somewhere through the night a little mosh pit started which, to be honest, I didn’t think would happen, but it was great regardless.
