Skint Circus plus Negative Measures, Brvce Willis & Guising
Venue: Latest Music Bar, Brighton
Date: 27th February 2017
Latest Music Bar was the place to be on the 27th February for anyone that was looking for a show to remember.
The first band to kick off the night was local band Guising. These guys are very unique in the way they blend garage rock with doom elements into their sound. Although they were kicking the night off early, Guising got the crowd moving and there were a few people dancing and enjoying the flow of there music. It was a good warm up for all the other bands we were seeing that night.
Next on was Brvce Willis, also local guys from Brighton, blending post rock and punk to create the Brvce Willis sound. The crowd were starting to get a bit more lively and more and more people were dancing and rocking out to their set. They kept the crowd hyped up for the next two bands.
Walking on next was Brighton’s hardcore punk act Negative Measures. Let me tell you, this is when shit really kicked off. The mosh pits were heavy with bodies and the drinks were flowing. Even I headed into the madness! I have been following this band for the last 4 months and, fuck they impressed me live. Their raw energy that just erupted in the crowd’s faces was just perfect for the raw blend of hardcore punk that these guys play so well. It was The crowd was more than ready for the headline act at this point.
Finishing the night off was the awesome Skint Circus coming from Brighton. The quartet blend punk, hardcore and nu-metal into their sound, and I can tell you it’s definitely something you need to witness live. You could tell that everyone at this event – the crowd and bands alike – wanted to make it a night to remember and it truly was. The mosh pits kicked off again and I made sure I was a part of it. Those who weren’t in the pits were still on their feet, jumping around. There wasn’t a bored look in sight.
