Witchery are a Swedish blackened thrash/speed metal band, who formed in 1997. ‘In His Infernal Majesty’s Service‘ is their sixth studio album, released through Century Media Records last month.

Blasting off this album are tracks ‘Lavey-Athan and ‘Zoroast‘, kicking off the album in style. Almost sounding like the lovechild of Bloodbath and Slayer. The next two songs show they’re at the top of their game with the genre.

The Burning Of Salem and ‘Gilded Fang just remind me of the first time I listened to BloodBath and Slayer, sounding amazing with pure riffage and heavy vocals. ‘Empty Tombs is the most stand-out track on this album with pure thrash and black metal vibes and Horror, Occult and Satanism lyrical themes.

In Warm Blood and ‘Escape From Dunwich Valley keep this album fast paced and make you feel like you’ve got a one way ticket on the highway to hell. ‘Feed The Gun‘ is another killer track. ‘Oath Breaker is the album closer, with fast paced riffs, heart pounding drums and insane vocals – what a way to finish the album in style.
